The five year deadline given for Hyderabad Metro Rail lapses
As per the agreement made with the Andhra Pradesh government in the year 2010, the project of Hyderabad Metro Rail had to be completed by the 4th of July of 2017. The project could not be completed as per the agreement as the government of Telangana failed to provide them with the land needed, say the sources.
It is also said that the government also made a huge delay in deciding the route alignments and agreeing that the delay caused was from the government’s end, the Telangana government has decided to extend the deadline for the project till November 2018. The project is being handled by Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
As per the new deadline, the complete project except for the 5kms stretch of the Old City and the 1 km stretch in the Hitec City and Raidurg will have to be finished by November of 2018.
